Not heard too much about YouTube Red yet? You’re not alone. That could be set to change in the near future however as the subscription service has a new Original Series coming called Good Game

This is a new esports focused comedy series created by Michele Morrow and Jesse Cox and produced by none other than Dan Harmon.

Harmon shot to fame as the creator and producer of Community and later became the co-creator of the much animated series loved Rick and Morty. If Good Game can generate even half the fan-base of these two it will go down as a hit. Rick and Morty writers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe are involved so we can confidently assert there’ll be some good one liners. We’ve been looking forward to this for a while and first wrote about it back in October last year when it didn’t even have a name.

The series which centres around two friends, Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, stars of Game Grumps, as they set out to win a million dollar esports tournament with a mismatched team they throw together.

The show kicks off on August 30th and YouTube Red has a $10 monthly fee, though it also has a one month free trial.

Esports Insider says: As Rick and Morty fans ourselves we’re looking forward to this one, and have far more optimism for it than we do the forthcoming Will Ferrell esports film. We’ll be signing up to that YouTbe Red trial…Wubba lubba dub dub.
