Allied Esports opens second arena in Shenzhen, China

Allied Esports has broadened its reach in the industry by opening its second esports arena in Shenzhen, China. Dubbed the “SEG Arena”, the venue was built in partnership with e-commerce leader Shenzhen SEG who will help Allied Esports with the company’s Chinese outreach.

The arena will measure in at 22,00 square feet with a multi-use production studio, 168 gaming stations and an “interactive VR experience.” Allied aims to promote the venue as a “one-stop-shop” for both large and small tournaments.

”Our vision is for Allied Esports SEG Arena to be the home of esports in Southern China,” said Laetitia Feng, CEO of Tianjin Allied Esports Internet Technology Company. “With the great partnerships we have announced with SEG and several game publishers this year we plan to bring many great events and productions to Shenzhen in the future.”

The Shenzhen area comes along as the little brother of the Wangyu Esports Arena, opened in Beijing in 2015. China has been enjoying a bit of a boom recently in terms of esports partnerships with one particular alliance being between published Perfect World and

KongZhong. For those unaware, Perfect World worked with Valve to bring both DOTA 2 and CS:GO to the Chinese market. KongZhong is the publisher of the “World of” series, including World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Warplanes.

Esports Insider says: With the recent release of CS:GO in China and this new arena, we could very well see a surge of both Chinese players and investors in esports. Congratulations to Allied Esports and the best of luck with their second venue.
