French esports organisation Vitality have announced a new partnership in the form of mineral water brand Volvic.
The Co-Owners of Team Vitality stated in a release on the site announcing the partnership: “We are honored to have convinced a large and prestigious French brand to become a partner of Team Vitality. As the main professional esport structure in France, the signature of Volvic completes our pool of prestigious partners.”
The French connection is a clear reason for Volvic opting for Vitality, a team which is enjoying a fantastic September with another recent announcement that their jersey will be one of a select few esports kits in the new FIFA 18. Vitality currently field players and teams in FIFA, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege and H1Z1.
Volvic’s motto is #RéveilleTonVolcan (Erupts Your Volcano), and you can see it combined with Vitality’s V for Victory in the partnership announcement clip below:

It’s refreshing to see a mineral water company enter the esports space which is somewhat overcome by various energy drink suppliers. No financial terms were disclosed about this particular deal, but we can assume that it’s the company dipping their toes into the esports water and that a more substantial deal, or deals, could emerge down the line.
Volvic isn’t the first mineral water company to make a move in esports of course, earlier this year Unicorns of Love signed an agreement with major German mineral water firm Gerolsteiner. You can read about that here. The hope is that this trend continues and helps somewhat to dispel the stereotype and misconception of esports fans being unhealthy basement dwellers.
Esports Insider says: This partnership between the two French organisations was announced with little hurrah, but it’s one worth shouting about. It’s another major brand in the space, and it’s another notable tick in Vitality’s boxes as Volvic joins the likes of Omen, Adidas and Canal+ as the team’s partners.
