Hans Christian Dürr left his role with Splyce back in early September and has since joined the German football club as “Head of Esports”, in which he will take are of any operative matters regarding the organisations epsorts activities. The move sees Tim Reichert, previously Head of Esports move into a position above as Chief Gaming Officer and will now be responsible for overseeing the whole strategic direction of the esports organisation.

Another interesting move is the hire of Mitch “Krepo” Voorspoels to become head coach for the League of Legends team as they head into the European LCS next year. Krepo is a man who has a considerable history in the League of Legends scene. Recently he was a caster with Riot but after a scandal surrounding leaked personal photos he left his role to take a backseat.

He revealed on Twitter last week that he had been coaching Splyce late last split and that he would not be returning to casting. He mentioned in the post that he would be “pursuing my passion for coaching and player development and will likely work in a less visible position in the esports environment”.

Hans Christian Dürr, FC Schalke Head of Esports stated in the release: “I am very honored and excited to be working alongside Tim Reichert in FC Schalke 04’s esports division. As my first official act for Schalke, I am very happy to have signed Mitch ‘Krepo’ Voorspoels as our League of Legends Head Coach. Mitch will lead the charge in creating our 2018 roster as well as take care of player development. Additionally he will serve in an advisory role to the FC Schalke 04 Esports content team, putting his broadcasting experience to use. Together with Mitch, we are also looking to hire a strong League of Legends Strategic Coach who will represent the team on stage”.

Esports Insider says: As Paris Saint-Germain drop out of League of Legends its good to see another football team commit with some great appointments at the top. We wish the existing team and incumbents the best of luck as Schalke look to forge ahead for the new LoL season.
