The British media company founded by university students made its first foray into esports with the acquisition of FIFA players. It currently fields two in EA Sports huge title, Shaun “Shellz” Springette and FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 winner and UK esports player of the year Spencer “Gorilla” Ealing.

The roster set to represent the organisation in Call of Duty is an all British roster. Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall and his brother Bradley “Wuskin” Marshall are joined by Sean “Seany” O’Connor and Thomas “Moose” Handley. The team will compete in the latest edition of Call of Duty which sees the game return to its World War routes after a brief experiment with jet packs and the like in the Infinite Warfare title.

The first time the roster will adorn UNILAD jerseys is out at the Call of Duty World League (“CWL”) Dallas which gets underway on December 8th. The team are in a group with Call of Duty giants OpTic Gaming, E6 and EnVyUs as they face a baptism of fire in Dallas.

The latest UNILAD foray sees the viral social news site stick with more “mainstream” titles and veer away from the big three titles Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and League of Legends. It does indeed make sense given the audience the site already has in place.

Esports Insider says: Good to see UNILAD expanding into other esports. Just how long will it be before we see them in one of the big three? It would certainly be a bold move as the community would probably be baffled by the move. Good luck to the team out at CWL in Dallas, facing the #GreenWall in the group stage will be a stark test of their ability to mix it with the best.
