HyperX has announced Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiidas as the “Official Gaming Headset Ambassador” for its headset brand.

Embiidas was recently named as an Eastern Conference starter for the NBA 2018 All-Star gamer and is known to be an avid gamer himself. Embiid is known for his effervescent personality, and with the signing, HyperX becomes the first brand to be connected to the trio of Team Dignitas, the Philadelphia 76ers and a team player.

“When I’m not playing basketball, I’m gaming,” said Joel Embiid. “HyperX headsets are extremely comfortable, and the audio quality is amazing. They help me do what I love to do, win.”

“Skilled as a pro basketball player and recognized as an esports social media star, HyperX welcomes Joel to the HyperX family as a brand ambassador for gaming,” said Daniel Kelley, HyperX director of corporate marketing. “We’re looking forward to including Joel in our activities in 2018.”

HyperX delved first into the world of traditional sports with its partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers in October 2017. It followed the renewal of a sponsorship with team Dignitas, who were acquired in September 2016 by the 76ers. Now, the brand has taken its involvement one step further with the sponsorship of an all-star player with an avid interest in gaming.

Furthermore, the brand announced its first NBA 2K sponsorship back in late November 2017. It was announced that it will become the official gaming headset partner of the future Dallas NBA 2K League team as well as the Dallas Mavericks in a continued push to expand beyond the realms of endemic esports sponsorship.

Esports Insider says: More big news from HyperX who continue to push the boundaries. We always talk about non-endemics entering the space but do you reckon the NBA talks about non-endemic esports sponsors entering the sports space? We’re confusing ourselves here so we’ll leave it on a congratulatory note.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
