Netgear‘s Nighthawk Pro Gaming has become an official sponsor of North American organisation NRG Esports. This deal will see NRG use products from the Nighthawk Pro Gaming range when training and participating in boot camps at Netgears’s new Nighthawk Pro Gaming lounge.

It’s worth noting that NRG Esports owns the Overwatch League franchise San Francisco Shock, which is one of the many teams that’s included in the sponsorship. Netgear is the sponsor of another OWL team, Seoul Dynasty.

Andy Miller, Owner and CEO of NRG Esports discussed the sponsorship in a statement: “We are pleased to be working with NETGEAR, the leading provider of networking equipment for the home, gamers and small business. We look forward to this collaboration and hope to set the tone for how corporate endemic brands support these exciting teams of professional gamers.”

Heidi Cormack, SVP of Global Marketing for NETGEAR also touched on the deal: “Our Nighthawk Pro Gaming products are specifically built to improve online game play and provide that competitive edge gamers are seeking. Partnerships with professional teams such as NRG enables us to connect with players and the overall gaming community to better understand the networking challenges they face. We are thrilled to be a featured sponsor of NRG and their roster of talented teams.”

NRG Esports welcomes Nighthawk Pro Gaming to its list of partners, which includes EventsDC, Logitech G, Twitch, Amazon’s mobile department, OPSEAT, Enjin Coin, Republic of Gamers, and Cal Esports.

Esports Insider says: It’s nice to see Netgear further invest into esports, and allowing NRG’s players to train in the Nighthawk Pro Gaming lounge is a nice touch, too. NRG is doing some good work in numerous titles as of late, so it’s a good time for Netgear to get involved.

  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
