Riot Games welcomes DXRacer as EU LCS sponsor

Riot Games has revealed that DXRacer is an official sponsor of the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS) for the ongoing Summer Split.

As part of this deal, the gaming chair brand will provide custom, EU LCS-branded chairs for players to sit in while competing throughout the split.

The announcement, which actually covers much more than this sponsorship, does reveal that these custom chairs will be available for fans and the general public to buy in the upcoming months, though no specific date has been released as of now.

Riot Games said the following in the announcement: “It’s our ongoing goal to partner with sponsors who share our commitment to supporting and developing our league for pros and fans. We’re excited to announce our partnership with DXRacer as the official EU LCS chair sponsor.”

DXRacer also sponsors individual teams, such as Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, OpTic Gaming, Natus Vincere, and Obey Alliance. The company makes custom chairs for these sponsored teams, and also offers computer desks, footrests, and other furniture that can aid in gaming.

The NA LCS found its main sponsor for the Summer Split earlier this month. Jersey Mike’s, an American sandwich chain with almost 1,300 stores in America, entered the esports industry with this deal and has hosted fan activations on-site at the NA LCS Arena in Los Angeles.

Esports Insider says: DXRacer is a proven hit with a lot of fans in the worlds of gaming and esports, so providing these chairs for players is a good move for the EU LCS. Riot Games has taken flack in the past for not providing enough merchandise and branded gear, so this deal should please quite a few people (depending on the price, of course).
