Tina Wesselsen, Head of Sponsorships at DNB touched on the partnership: “Esport growingly exponentially and this provides us (DNB) with an unique opportunity to reach a very exciting demographic. We are keen on elevating the positive attributes of esports. Nordavind was launched in 2017 by Magni Sports AS and New Meta AS in collaboration with Eliteserien football team Vålerenga Fotball – inheriting the legacy of former esports organisation BX3. Nordavind competes in titles such as Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, Street Fighter V, and FIFA.

Aina Lemoen-Lunde, Brand and Marketing Director at DNB also discussed the deal: “Esports has simply become to big to ignore from a sponsorship and marketing perspective. We have been looking for an entrypoint into the esports market for a while, and we believe we found that in Nordavind. In the times ahead we look forward to learning alongside the club, players and fanbase.”

Esports Insider says: A major, title sponsorship with a bank is a big deal and an unprecedented move in esports. DNB has a huge presence and market share in Norway, so it definitely has the means to support Nordavind – we hope it sees the worth in sharing a name with the Norwegian organisation.
