MedStar Health and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) announced a 10-year agreement. Under this deal, the MSE training facilities are changing names, including the MedStar Wizards District Gaming Studio.

MSE’s NBA2K team, Wizards District Gaming announced the new sponsor through social media, as seen below. The companies previously publicised the deal at a news conference held in Arlington on Monday morning. Financial details were not disclosed during the conference.

Ted Leonsis, CEO and Majority Owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment said in a statement: “MedStar Health is a trailblazer in health care in the Washington and Baltimore communities. We are thrilled to enter into this innovative partnership with them that will bring MedStar’s unparalleled excellence in health care to every single team in the Monumental Sports family.  The MedStar Wizards District Gaming Studio is changing the way esports professionals approach health. Located adjacent to Capital One Arena, the facility is now one of top-of-the-line esports training facilities.”

Kenneth A. Samet, FACHE, President and CEO, MedStar Health said: “We welcome the significant opportunities this collaboration with Monumental Sports & Entertainment will bring to our organizations, the teams and sports we support, and most importantly, our patients and communities.”

Leonsis added: “We hope that this expanded partnership will help re-imagine the way teams in professional sports approach delivering the very best medical care.”

Part of the deal includes a council of medical professionals for the teams. The council is expected to hold regular meetings with the coaches and discuss the best practices for the team. MSE is putting the player’s health first with this new partnership.

Esports Insider says: This kind of partnership shows the evolution of esports as an industry. Teams are expanding the staffs with nutritionists, psychologists, and personal trainers. Organisations now understand the need for a healthy lifestyle and are encouraging the players to take care of themselves.

  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
