The Gears Pro Circuit includes a number of events, both offline – across North America, Europe, and Latin America – and online. As to be expected, online tournaments are much more frequent with an MLG 2K tournament taking place most weeks across all three aforementioned regions.

The event in San Diego is hosted by Major League Gaming in collaboration with Gears of War and The Coalition. It’s open to both professional and amateur competitors, with top tier organisations such as OpTic Gaming and Echo Fox in attendance.

Gears of War is currently in its second season of the Gears Pro Circuit, dishing out a total of $2,000,000 (£1,529,220) over the events.

In July 2017, it was announced that Logitech would be acquiring ASTRO Gaming to cover both PC and console gaming with its offering. ASTRO Gaming has led the market in console headsets and accessories for many years, being the provider of choice for many teams in Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears of War.

Esports Insider says: ASTRO Gaming has been a staple in console gaming for quite some years, so it’s nice to see the company support one of the few remaining console esports: Gears of War.
