German rap duo Felix “Kollegah” Blume and Farid “Farid Bang” Hamed El Abdellaoui have announced the creation of JBG Gaming, a new esports organisation.

Kollegah and Farid Bang shared the news during Gamescom, the annual video games fair celebrated in Cologne, Germany. The duo partnered up with reSports Media, an esports consultancy agency that helped with the creation of the brand.

JBG Gaming’s name was inspired by “Jung, brutal & gutaussehend” (young, brutal, good-looking), the multi-platinum album series by Kollegah and Farid Bang.

The new organisation is focusing on FIFA at the moment, and to do so, JBG Gaming signed two players; Anel “Flaggo” Tahirovic and Erné Embeli. Flaggo is an experienced player that previously competed in multiple European events and tournaments. Embeli is the host of FeelFIFA, a YouTube channel with over 900,000 subscribers.

On Facebook, Flaggo wrote: “The FIFA 18 year certainly was not quite optimal but with the qualification for the first major event in Barcelona and the virtual Bundesliga I could reach a few set goals. Now it’s full of focus on FIFA 19 and I am happy that I’m part of the new JBG gaming. With new goals and possibilities, I will give my best to represent JBG gaming.”

On Instagram, Embeli wrote: “I am officially a part of JBG Gaming. I’ll be kicking off as Content Creator there. I wouldn’t have thought a few years ago that I will have this opportunity sometime. Thanks to each individual out there because without you this dream would have never come true.”

Esports Insider says: Whilst far from the most established of esports titles, FIFA is attracting a broad variety of investors, including sports clubs and athletes such as Christian Fuchs and Mesut Özil. JBG Gaming is entering a highly competitive environment, FIFA has millions of players around the world and is open to anyone ready to compete.
