Esports Insider becomes Key Media Partner of Esports Integrity Coalition

London, UK, Oct. 30, 2018 Esports Insider (“ESI”) and the Esports Integrity Coalition (“ESIC”) have today announced a partnership which will see ESI become the Key Media partner of ESIC.

The partnership will see Esports Insider continue to work with ESIC to help promote and grow the not-for-profit organisation at ESI events and through educational editorial where appropriate.

The Esports Integrity Coalition is a not-for-profit members’ association which was established in 2015 by key esports stakeholders to deal with issues of common interest – in particular the threat of match fixing and betting fraud as well as other integrity challenges posed to the esports industry. Current partners of ESIC include a vast number of bookmakers as well as tournament organisers and other significant industry stakeholders.

Most recently, ESIC issued a five-year ban for OpTic India player Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat after he was found guilty of cheating in Counter-Strike competition in recent months.

Esports Insider is a business news site, media and events company based in London. ESI has supported ESIC since its inception, with Commissioner Ian Smith being present at ESI events since Betting on Sports in September 2016 where he spoke on a panel “Corruption and how to avoid it. Protecting esports integrity”.

ESI most recently provided ESIC with exhibition space and a speaker slot at ESI London, the company’s biggest event to date in September 2018.

Sam Cooke, Managing Director of Esports Insider commented: “We’ve worked with Ian for a considerable while and have had the pleasure of hearing him speak on many a panel at our events over recent years. We’re delighted to work with ESIC in a more official capacity and continue to support the vital work they do in the space.”

Ian Smith, Commissioner of the Esports Integrity Coalition said: “I’ve always really enjoyed ESI events from the early days at the Fnatic Bunker because they presented a rare opportunity to address a knowledgeable esports audience and go into a depth that most conferences simply don’t offer. That unique feature has continued as the scale of the events has increased. I cannot overstate, too, the importance of the media in getting ESIC’s message across to the community and ESI have been very supportive from day one in giving us a platform. It’s a pleasure to formalise our relationship and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the team as our Key Media Partner.”
