South Korean esports network OGN has revealed the OGN Super League Europe (OSL EU) PUBG Invitational 2018, a 16-team invite-only tournament.

OGN has partnered with Spanish entertainment company DeAPlaneta and German sports business company 7Sports. It’ll be hosted over November 27th to December 2nd.

The 16 teams that will compete in the international tournament are: Alliance, AVANGAR, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, HWA Gaming, Team M19, Method, MOONWOLF, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, PENTA Sports, Pittsburgh Knights, Team Liquid, Team Vitality, Wild Gaming, and Wizards.

Youngryul Choi, Head Producer of OGN Super League Europe discussed the competition: “We are looking forward to the debut of OSL in Europe. The rule and format could be new to audiences. For example, the main concept of the ‘Dominator’ and the rule set-up in general are easy for all types of audiences to not only understand, but also entertain. Through more active interaction with audiences, we expect OSL EU to grow in the years to come and contribute to PUBG’s further success in Europe.”

The league will have a total prize pool €60,000 (£53,358.60) and will not be available for the public to attend, the action will instead be livestreamed. Three maps – Sanhok, Miramar, and Erangel – will be played over six days, with four rounds taking place per day. Highlights from the event will be broadcast in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on ProSieben MAXX and on Neox in Spain.

In October, it was announced that OGN had partnered with PUBG Corp. to launch the National PUBG League (NPL) – the North American arm of the upcoming competitive season.

Esports Insider says: OGN has already secured North American action for next year, so it’s great to see it get involved in Europe too. The prize pool may not be the biggest, but some of the best teams in the world will be in attendance so it’s likely to be a great watch with OGN’s typically-great production.
