Houston Outlaws, the Overwatch League franchise owned by Infinite Esports & Entertainment, has extended its partnership with T-Mobile.

The telecommunications company will continue to act as the presenting partner and official wireless partner of the franchise going into the second season of Activision Blizzard’s league.

Following on from the perks of the partnership from the first season, T-Mobile will provide benefits to its customers who support Outlaws and continue to sponsor the ‘Outlaws Unlimited’ video series.

This partnership was first announced in May last year, but it’s not the most recent deal between T-Mobile and an Overwatch League franchise. Earlier this month, the telecomms giant was announced as the latest sponsor of New York Excelsior.

Ryan Musselman, President of Infinite Esports & Entertainment discussed the renewal in a statement: “Last year T-Mobile helped us build a foundation toward solidifying Outlaws as a top OWL brand. Now, we get to build upon that foundation with enhanced focus and an even-stronger partnership, resulting in new experiences and capabilities for our fans. T-Mobile continues to help us pave the way toward being the best in the league, both in and out of game.”

In January, it was reported that Houston Outlaws and OpTic Gaming’s parent company, Infinite Esports & Entertainment, was set to be sold. Texas Esports, the majority owner of the company, is looking for at least $150 million (£117 million) for its stake.

Esports Insider says: Houston Outlaws proved to be one of the more engaging and personality-driven franchises in the league throughout the first season, so we’re not too surprised to see T-Mobile wanting to stick along into the next season.
