James O’Connor, President of Pittsburgh Knights commented on the partnership: “HyperX is a prominent sponsor of gaming and esports around the world and the Pittsburgh Knights are very happy to become part of the HyperX family. Their headsets and gaming gear are of the highest quality and will give us a real advantage in practice and during tournaments. I’m looking forward to a successful partnership with HyperX.”

In December 2018, Pittsburgh Knights announced that it had received investment from NFL team Pittsburgh Steelers. The organisation currently fields competitors in PUBG, Paladins, SMITE, Super Smash Bros., Hearthstone, Fortnite, and Gwent and counts Totino’s, Arma Centrum, and Twitch as its partners.

Daniel Kelley, Director of Corporate Marketing at HyperX added: “It’s great to include the Pittsburgh Knights into our HyperX family of influencers. The city of Pittsburgh has a storied history in sports and we are excited to support the Knights on their journey.”

HyperX is involved with a plethora of organisations in the esports industry, including the likes of LGD Gaming, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, compLexity Gaming, Cloud9, Kingzone DragonX, Echo Fox, and Renegades. It also acquired the naming rights to Esports Arena Drive and Esports Arena Las Vegas in 2018.

Esports Insider says: It’s no real surprise to see HyperX sponsor another organisation considering the extensive roster it has already built up but it’s still a good deal for Knights. Having a company supply full sets of peripherals for your players is always handy!
