Production company and tournament organiser FACEIT has partnered with Genvid Technologies for the Esports Championship Series (ECS) Season 7 Finals.
The partnership provides CS:GO fans with the option to purchase the ECS Season 7 Premium Pass to enhance their viewing experience via the official FACEIT Twitch channel.
Subscribers have access to 11 channels with stats and tactics information, player POV cameras, interviews, and an Interactive HUD with multiple functionalities, including an interactive ‘clapping’ feature for viewers’ favourite players. When viewers clap in one of the 11 premium channels, it creates a visual fire-effect on their own personal view, as well as across all other premium channels for others to see. Clapping and cheering information via the premium channels is also fed into analytical tools available to the FACEIT broadcast team to assist them in delivering a quality experience. The channels also feature stats provided by Genvid, and access to premium-only chat rooms with custom chat emojis.
On the partnership, Michele Attisani, CBO & Co-Founder of FACEIT said, “We always want to provide fans with new ways to follow and support the players they love. We’re thrilled to offer our audience new innovative and interactive viewing opportunities and we see the ECS Premium Pass as the next phase in the evolution of traditional esports content.”
Similarly, J. Eckert, Director of Partnerships for Genvid commented that “Our new cheering functionality creates a first of its kind experience, allowing viewers at home to feel as if they are really there, and to participate in the shared excitement of a cheering crowd as their favourite players fight to be crowned the ECS Season 7 Champions.”
This is not the first time that FACEIT has partnered with Genvid for their tournaments. A similar premium pass was Previously debuted at the FACEIT London Major in Fall of 2018, albeit with less content, features and engagement tools.
Esports Insider says: The features that come with the premium are quite neat, and the clapping feature is certainly an interesting added level of engagement. While this isn’t the first time FACEIT have used a premium pass like this, we are seeing a growing number of tournaments incorporate this offer to Twitch viewers.
