Esports Awards has been hosted in London, UK since its inception, so this year’s show marks the first year in which it has headed stateside.

Jonathon Oudthone, President of Esports Stadium Arlington shared his thoughts on hosting the awards: ”We are extremely excited and honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Esports Awards for the next three years. By hosting the Esports Awards at our state-of-the-art facility, we are one step closer to achieving our goal of becoming the central hub for esports in North America. We wouldn’t be the most prestigious esports venue without hosting the most prestigious esports awards show on the planet.”

Esports Awards has brought in Arlington as its destination partner, as well as Esports Stadium Arlington, Secretlab, The Koyo Store, and Touch of Ginger as award category partners. As Oudthone remarked, the awards will be hosted in the stadium for three years.

Tom Mercey, CEO and Co-founder of Esports Awards commented on the change of venue: “The Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Arlington have been very welcoming, and we feel very comfortable that our new home will deliver the biggest and best Esports Awards to date. We are humbled and excited at the opportunity to host the awards in a city with such high sporting and events acumen. Our audience can look forward to a few surprises along the way to what will be a defining ceremony for the Esports Awards.”

Esports Insider says: Esports Stadium Arlington has proven itself, in a very short period of time, to be a solid venue for a variety of events. The Esports Awards will be a different type of event for the stadium to play host to but we’re sure it’ll do the job. Incorporating general admission may just increase the levels of interest and hype surrounding the show as it approaches, too.
