ReKTGlobal, the parent company of organisation Rogue, has hired Michael ‘ODEE’ O’Dell as its Chief Gaming Officer.

ODEE’s new role will see him work to develop business strategies, create client partnerships, and secure brand sponsorships for Rogue, Greenlit Content, and the company’s LEC franchise.

ODEE commented on his new venture: “I am extremely excited to join ReKTGlobal. The vision they have is exactly what I was looking for as I continue to help build esports and more. Amish and Dave have put something special together that is evolving fast and I cannot wait to help with various aspects of the business.,” he continued. “For me it was the perfect fit, as the company has big plans and a global perspective. I am absolutely buzzing I cannot wait to get to work with such an inspiring group of people.”

ODEE departed Dignitas on a mutual basis earlier this month. He founded the organisation in 2003 and it remained under his control for a number of years, only relinquishing control when NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers acquired it in 2016. Dignitas was moved under a new holding company, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), in the following year.

Dave Bialek, CEO of ReKTGlobal discussed the hire: “Michael is representative of the type of crossover talent with whom we are building ReKTGlobal. As comfortable talking game play strategy as he is consulting for brands and corporations, ODEE’s wealth of industry experience instantly makes him a centerpiece of ReKTGlobal and Rogue’s global expansion.”

ReKTGlobal has received a number of new investments from figures that are prominent in the music industry over the past few months. Nicky Romero joined the ownership group in June and both Marco “Tainy” Masís and Lex Borrero were announced in May, joining the likes of Steve Aoki and members of Imagine Dragons as co-owners of the company as its esports properties.

Esports Insider says: If esports royalty existed, ODEE would be in contention to claiming a role. After his solid work with Dignitas over the formative years of esports, he’s sure to have an amazing understanding of how to manage and grow a brand in this industry so this is a great hire for ReKTGlobal and Rogue.
