Marcus Lindmark, Co-CEO of DreamHack commented on the new venture in a release: “I cannot express our excitement at bringing DreamHack to the great city of Anaheim for our first-ever West Coast festival weekend — especially because it comes on the heels of our 25th-anniversary celebration. This debut event in Anaheim will be a not-to-be-missed experience for fans of esports and all things gaming.”

The event will feature the typical assortment of activities hosted by DreamHack, including BYOC competitions, professional esports tournaments, and a range of amateur events. Alongside gaming, the event will feature cosplay championships, art expositions, panels, screenings, and live music.

Roy Edmonson, Vice President of Sports Development for Visit Anaheim added: “We are thrilled to be bringing DreamHack to the West Coast for the first time in the history of the event. Events like DreamHack are perfect for Anaheim, as we have the largest convention centre on the west coast, and this is a great addition to our portfolio of clients.”

Between now and the Anaheim event in February, DreamHack will host events in Montreal, Malmo, Rotterdam, Atlanta, Jönköping, Sevilla, and Leipzig.

Esports Insider says: DreamHack is slowly but surely entering new markets and, while the West Coast won’t be alien to the company considering it’s worked in the States prior to this event, it’s cool to see a new audience have the opportunity to get involved.
