Australian esports tournament platform Mogul has announced the Dota 2 Alliance League tournament series with a $100,000 (£82,000) prize pool up for grabs. The league is in partnership with esports organisation Alliance who are most famous for winning The International 3.
Mogul first announced its partnership with Alliance back in May where the esports organisation launched an official membership scheme. The membership allows fans the opportunity to compete and win prizes which include 1:1 coaching sessions with Alliance players.
Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg, Alliance’s Chief Executive Officer, commented in a release “The Alliance League will give our fans the chance to improve their skills alongside the team, attend a 1-on-1 coaching session, win huge prizes and go in the draw to meet the team and see us play. The new membership offering and tournament series will allow us to continue to create a lasting esports legacy while supporting tomorrow’s best players and all of the fans who have supported us on our journey.”
The Dota 2 tournament is open for players and teams in Europe and Southeast Asia. The format consists of quarterly qualifier seasons over the next 12 months, before the Alliance Majors finale in 2020. There is a global grand prize pool of over $100,000 (£82,000) with the top team in each region taking home a minimum of $25,000 (£20,000). Registrations for Season 1 Qualifier 1 is open now for Alliance Members and kicks off August 30th.

These allow fans to experience centralised content, exclusive offerings and connect with their favourite teams on a competitive level.”
In May, Mogul announced that it had raised A$3.1 million (£1.63M) through its latest share placement. The proceeds from the transaction were confirmed to be used to further support the rollout of their deal with Alliance, further international expansion and continued innovation of Mogul’s tournament platform.
