Payments provider Neosurf is now sponsoring Dire Wolves, N8 Esports, Team Oracle, and Supa-Stellar.

The four teams are currently operating within the Esports High Performance Centre (EHPC) after striking a partnership with the Australian organisation.

As part of this multi-year deal, all ecommerce elements within the EHPC and its associated teams will have Neosurf integrated into them as a payment option. This includes merchandise, memberships, and training courses.

Gareth Jones, CEO of Esports High Performance Centre discussed the deal in a release: “For a brand to become integrated into the esports community there needs to be a dedication to understanding the audience and developing activations that deliver on their needs and motivations. The team at Neosurf are awesome to work with and fully appreciate that simply putting their brand on our shirts is not enough to achieve our goal.”

Meanwhile, Neosurf – which wants to show how ‘non-endemic’ brands can be successfully integrated into the esports ecosystem – will combine with the EHPC to develop co-created activations with the four teams to further professionalise esports in Australia.

These activations will feature scholarships for up-and-coming players, as well as supporting bootcamps, providing online coaching, and hosting events.

Antoine Metivier, Director of Partnerships at Neosurf added: “Providing value to the end user is our aim at Neosurf in everything we do whether it is through our payment products or our partnerships and initiatives. The team at the EHPC is the perfect partner as we enter into the esports space because they operate across multiple esports and, importantly, have a deep level of understanding of the different fans and how brands can add value rather than simply try and extract value.”

Oceania’s League of Legends team Dire Wolves has set about getting back to Worlds in 2020, while FIFA side N8 Esports continues to dominate the console space in Australia. New Dota 2 entrant Team Oracle has targeted representing Australia at TI 2020 and all-girl gamer group Supa-Stellar is driving female inclusion in esports and gaming.

Esports Insider says: This all-in deal gives Neosurf a good amount of reach in esports, providing a platform for it to advertise its services to esports fans across Australia. Partnering with EHPC appears to be a good package deal for potential partners and sponsors, gaining access to a collective of teams – each of which with their own focuses and fan bases.
