TV 2 Denmark has renewed its licensing deal with RFRSH Entertainment to cover the BLAST Premier circuit from 2020.
The renewal quickly follows BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen and sees TV 2 Denmark acquire the exclusive Danish broadcast rights to next year’s BLAST Premier.

Alexander Lewin, VP, Programming and Distribution for BLAST Pro Series discussed the deal in a release: “We are delighted to be partnering once more with TV 2, offering more premium content than ever to a Danish audience. The TV 2 team is at the forefront of esports entertainment globally, and keeps pushing the boundary of CS:GO to the mainstream – providing the perfect home for BLAST Premier.”
The BLAST Premier series will feature a total prize pool of $4.25 million (£3.3 million). As part of the deal, TV 2 Denmark will broadcast the events on TV 2 Zulu and online platform TV 2 Play.
Allan Hvid, Editor in Chief of TV 2 Sporten also commented on the deal: “We’re happy that we’ve extended a very good relationship with BLAST and we’re looking forward to transmitting from BLAST Premier in 2020. With the new tournament format, I believe our transmissions will be even more unique and our ambitions are always to bring the atmosphere from the arenas to our audience in Denmark.”

BLAST Copenhagen, which was attended by 12,000 fans at the Royal Arena, was reported to have been broadcast in 135 territories in 20 languages. TV 2 Denmark streamed the event from its own studio inside the arena.
TV 2 Denmark recently acquired the Danish broadcast rights for ESL and DreamHack’s ESL Pro Tour until February 2023, where the action will similarly be broadcast on TV 2 Zulu and TV 2 Play.
Esports Insider says: With more esports being broadcast on television, especially in native languages that aren’t English, a larger audience will be exposed to esports and potentially become fans, creating a bigger and healthier scene. CS:GO is obviously a target for TV 2 Denmark.
