The campaign is part of efforts to promote KFC’s vegan burger and follows the recent renewal of the deal between the fast food chain and Kairos Esports.

Josh Benge, Brand Engagement Manager at KFC, discussed the campaign in a release: “It’s been amazing to see the reception of our new Esports Performance Burger and know that it’s unlocking the potential of our customers and taking their gaming to the next level. We can’t wait to see elite level gamers taking to servers the world over and showing off the potential of plant-based performance.”

Throughout the course of the partnership, the two parties have launched KFC Royale, an online tournament which saw influencers and a qualifying player compete for £15,000 and a KFC Black Card. The partnership also saw KFC become sponsor of the LoL Pro League (LPL).

Drew Townley, CEO of Kairos Esports, added: “Working with the team at KFC has been an absolute pleasure and we look forwards to bringing many more great activations to gamers. The last year has been all about establishing KFC Gaming as a leading brand activation in the esports and gaming industry. We’re excited to kick-off 2020 with a fun ad for the new KFC Vegan Burger and it’s “esports performance enhancing” characteristics, which may or may not be substantiated by evidence…”

Esports Insider says: Since its creation in 2018, KFC Gaming has managed to become a prominent name in UK esports thanks to its social media campaigns. The documentary will highlight KFC’s new vegan option to the gaming and esports audiences through original and engaging content in a bid to cultivate new customers.
