Thomson joins the Isle of Man-based company having most recently worked at fellow esports betting site Unikrn as its Head of Brand Communications. Luckbox announced in July that its oversubscribed funding round closed of $5M CAD (£3.88M) ahead of an expected listing on Toronto’s TSX Venture Exchange.

He spoke on his new venture in a release: “I’m relishing the chance to work with such a young brand. Being able to shape brand growth in a competitive world is something that I am looking forward to facing. I love how esports is ever-evolving and there is always something fresh and new coming on to the scene. It is developing in front of our very eyes and to be involved on the forefront of that world is such an exciting place to be.”

Thomson has more than seven years of experience in the gambling industry, having worked with Australian wagering company Tabcorp and Luxebet prior to Unikrn.

Quentin Martin, CEO of Luckbox, commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Lachlan to Luckbox. He has a strong background in the egaming industry and brings highly relevant skills and knowledge to our team thanks to his time with Unikrn. We have enjoyed phenomenal success in 2020 and we have made no secret of our plans to accelerate our growth aggressively for the remainder of the year and beyond, and Lachlan will play an interesting role in doing so.”

Esports Insider Says: This is a good move for Luckbox, as it looks to build its reputation by adding an experienced member of the esports gambling industry. No doubt that Luckbox’s rapid growth will be served appropriately by this appointment.
