Hong Kong-based organisation Talon Esports has announced a commercial partnership with sponsorship and audience analytics firm Cavea.

Cavea, which works with other esports firms such as Astralis, Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and DreamHack, will use its AI-driven platform to provide analysis of Talon’s data ecosystem, making it easier to portray the information to partners.

Mircea Gabriel Eftemie, co-founder and CEO of Cavea, commented in a release: “We are more than happy to announce and welcome another great addition to the client roster – Talon Esports! [They are] joining us in our mission to standardise media valuations in the esports market by enabling our visual data capturing capabilities and automated reporting towards partners. We are looking very much forward providing our services and making Talon Esports data strategic across their entire organisation.”

Talon Esports was founded in 2017 and competes in such games as League of Legends, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, and Clash Royale. The team has a League of Legends partnership with football club Paris Saint-Germain’s PSG Esports division, and qualified for this year’s League of Legends World Championship.

In October, Talon Esports announced a $2m (£1.49m) seed round that included participation from Widus Strategic Investments, EMC Capital, Widus Strategic Investments, and founder of esports marketing agency United Esports, Felix LaHaye.

Xiao (Sean) Zhang, CEO of Talon Esports, added: “Cavea.io is an all-in solution that simplifies the complexity of reporting on the huge amounts of data that is generated within Talon’s ecosystem. As an organisation that manages social media accounts and streaming channels across numerous teams, players and influencers, Cavea.io is an advanced tool that allows us to better track, analyse and quantify our social presence in one application.”

Esports Insider says: Esports teams have an incredible amount of data to sift through as they pursue profitability on multiple fronts, so it’s no surprise to see more and more teams align with analytics platforms. Cavea has already racked up a few big partners in recent months, so they’re certainly a company to watch in the space.
