Alliance is the latest organisation to launch a fan-token scheme on the platform, after Natus Vincere announced it had done so earlier this month. Red Bull-backed OG Esports also has fan tokens on Socios, as well as Spanish esports organisation Team Heretics and various world-renowned football clubs like FC Barcelona and Juventus.
As part of Alliance’s agreement, which is in partnership with Chiliz, fans can vote in an upcoming poll for which esports title the organisation should invest in next. Currently Alliance has teams in Dota 2, Apex Legends, Super Smash Bros Melee, PUBG Mobile, and Trackmania.
Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg, Dota 2 coach for Team Alliance, commented: “I am extremely excited to announce that we are partnering with Socios.com to launch $ALL Fan Tokens. We exist for our fans and we want to give them a direct say in key decisions, such as which games we pick up and what we feature on our team jerseys. $ALL Fan Token will also give Alliance fans the chance to win a tonne of rewards and unique VIP experiences.”

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO & Founder of Chiliz and Socios.com, said: “We are delighted to welcome Team Alliance on board as the latest esports organization to join Socios.com. $ALL Fan Tokens are going to give fans a big say in the future of the organisation and real decision-making power starting with the incredible first poll to choose which game Alliance will pick up a team in next.”
Esports Insider says: The agreement continues to signify the importance of creating more fan engagement offerings and revenue streams in the esports industry. Fan tokens on Socios.com are fully fungible assets, meaning a fan can buy and sell tokens on the blockchain-technology market, which adds a neat incentive for fans to engage. Don’t be surprised if you see more organisations releasing their own fan tokens in the coming months and years, similarly to Alliance, Team Heretics and OG Esports.
