International esports company GameSquare Esports has announced former FaZe Clan Senior Vice President Jan Neumeister as its new Head of European Operations.
Tasked with driving organic revenue growth in Europe, Neumeister will also be identifying cross-selling opportunities within the company’s North American operations.
Jan Neumeister has nearly two decades of experience in media, digital marketing and the monetisation of assets.
Prior to joining GameSquare, Neumeister was the SVP of Media and Partnerships at North American organisation FaZe Clan. His responsibilities included crafting and executing the organisation’s European strategy, developing brand partnerships, and driving asset acquisition outside of the United States.
Kevin Wright, CEO of GameSquare commented on the acquisition: “I am extremely excited that we are attracting experienced professionals like Jan to the GameSquare family.
“Jan’s experience growing media groups and developing world-class partnerships is a tremendous asset for GameSquare as we build a leading, international gaming and esports company. Jan’s experience in esports, traditional sport, and global media companies is a winning combination that we anticipate will help us to capitalise on trends within esports, which is in the early innings of growth, and entertainment more broadly.”
Neumeister also spent over five years at City Football Group as its Head of Commercial Media. The holding company is known for owning several football clubs around the world, including Premier League side Manchester City, as well as New York City FC in the MLS and Melbourne City FC in Australian A-League.
Esports Insider Says: Having worked with such well-esteemed organisations in the past, Jan Neumeister brings a lot of high-level esports and sports experience to GameSquare. There is no doubt that GameSquare will be able to benefit from his knowledge and expertise within Europe.
