HyperX extends partnerships with Knights and NECC

Gaming peripherals company HyperX has extended its partnerships with the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) and North American esports organisation Knights.

The extensions will see HyperX continue as the official peripherals provider for Knights, alongside providing the NECC with headsets and peripherals as prizes for its tournaments.

For the NECC, the peripherals company will also become the title sponsor for several tournaments taking place during the Spring semester, along with being the presenting sponsor for the NECC’s Overwatch and Rocket League player of the week awards.

Jacob VanRyn, NECC Commissioner, spoke on the extension in a release: “We’re excited to renew our partnership with HyperX. They’ve supported us since day one and we’re proud to announce this extension of our relationship.”

The recently-rebranded Knights first entered a partnership with HyperX back in 2019 which has seen the two parties collaborate on a number of activations including a charity live stream involving rapper and Knights’ strategic partner Wiz Khalifa.

Matt Roche, Director of Business Development at Knights, commented on the organisation’s continued partnership: “HyperX is a company that really understands gamers and is eager to support our team on new initiatives and to connect with the esports community on a personal level. They’ve proved to be a great ally and we’re happy to continue this partnership with them.”

Esports Insider says: For the NECC and HyperX, their extension will benefit both parties. Collegiate players will have the chance to win new equipment while the peripheral company’s logo will appear on broadcasts and NECC’s website throughout the semester, providing exposure in the collegiate esports market.

For Knights, it comes as no surprise to see HyperX renewing its existing deal with the organisation after two years of successful activations. Expect more to take place throughout 2021.
