North American content security company Verimatrix has been announced as an official partner of the ESL Premiership, a domestic esports competition for the UK and Ireland.
The deal will see the company’s logo appear within matches, alongside being present during live broadcasts.

The partnership marks Verimatrix’s entrance into the esports industry. The firm joins the likes of UK energy drink brand Beyond NRG and gaming monitor manufacturer AOC as a partner of the ESL Premiership.
Asaf Ashkenazi, Chief Operating Officer at Verimatrix, spoke on the company’s entrance into the industry in a release: “As a long-time leader in securing digital entertainment and ensuring optimal user experience, Verimatrix is pleased to serve as an official sponsor of ESL Premiership.
“It’s an exciting time in esports. The industry’s clear growth trajectory into the billions of dollars falls in line with our commitment to serve as a secure delivery partner from origination to destination.”

Alongside acquiring new partners for the 2021 season, ESL UK has also added League of Legends: Wild Rift under the ESL Premiership banner. The tournament is said to be one of the first of its kind to be held in the region.

Esports Insider says: Seeing new companies enter the esports industry in uncertain times is certainly a positive. It will be interesting to see how the two parties will collaborate during broadcasts and in-game.
