Atlanta Reign announces HyperX as peripherals partner

Overwatch League (OWL) franchise Atlanta Reign has announced a partnership with gaming peripherals company HyperX.

The deal will see the company become Atlanta Reign’s exclusive peripherals partner, with HyperX providing a range of gaming accessories to the franchise’s players and coaching staff.

This is Atlanta Reign’s fourth announced partner. Hyper X joins the likes of McDonald’s, telecommunications company Cox Communications, and gaming furniture manufacturer RESPAWN Products.

Paul Hamilton, President and CEO of the Atlanta Reign, spoke on the partnership in a release: “We’re very excited to be partnering with HyperX for the 2021 Overwatch League season. HyperX understands the needs of our players and staff which is why we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Reign family.”

2021 has already been a busy year for HyperX. The company has inked multiple partnerships with esports entities, such as Virtus.pro and esports education company Esposure. The brand has also secured several sponsorship deals with the likes of tournament organiser FACEIT.

Kitty Nguyen, Esports Sponsorship Specialist at HyperX, also commented on the deal: “HyperX is thrilled to join forces and partner with the Atlanta Reign, equipping them with best in class gaming peripherals, players will showcase and demonstrate how HyperX products are tuned with the gamer in mind. We’re excited to see what the Atlanta Reign can accomplish and look forward to collaborating with them for the 2021 Overwatch Season.”

Esports Insider says: Peripheral partnerships are nothing out of the ordinary in esports but the deal will be beneficial for both parties involved. For Atlanta Reign, securing the peripherals company as a partner is another solid addition to its commercial portfolio. For HyperX, the deal sees the firm establish yet another partnership with an esports entity.
