UK-based esports organisation Rix.GG has appointed Filip ‘SmX’ Liljeström as its Esport Operations Manager.
Liljeström joins the organisation after a two-year spell at Fnatic where he managed its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team and was the organisation’s Esports Operations Coordinator.

Prior to his career in team management and esports operations, Liljeström competed in Heroes of the Storm under the Fnatic banner where he managed to finish second at the 2016 Fall Global Championship and the 2017 Global Championship.
According to a release, he will ‘create a flexible and scalable system between esports and operations departments’ alongside assisting with the organisation’s intentions to expand into other titles.
Jan ‘Careion’ Hoffmann, Chief Operating Officer at Rix.GG, spoke on the appointment: “We’re very excited to welcome Filip as our new Esport Operations Manager. As a former professional player and World Champion, he has the right skillset to help us take our esport operations to the next level.
“Having worked with Filip as his coach, manager, and later management colleague at FNATIC, I know 100 percent that he will bring extreme dedication, excellence, and experience like no other to Rix.GG. Welcome Friend!”

Details on which titles Rix.GG would be expanding into weren’t revealed. The organisation currently fields rosters in VALORANT and Rocket League.
The newly appointed Esport Operations Manager also commented on the news: “I’m incredibly happy to finally be able to announce that I’ve joined forces with Rix.GG as an Esports Operations Manager. I will assist our pro gaming department in expanding as well as running as smoothly as possible.
“I’ve been given an incredibly warm welcome so far, and I’m incredibly excited to reunite with my old friend Jan ‘Careion’ Hoffmann, as well as Nicole ‘Wolf”‘Sølvmose.”
Esports Insider says: Rix.GG is slowly building an impressive group of staff as it looks to continue its current rate of growth. With Filip Liljeström on board, the organisation is certainly on the right path.
