Intel will collaborate with EPIC.LAN through technology demonstrations at events and giveaways. Moreover, the company will look to improve the technical infrastructure of events that feature a range of esports tournaments.

Jon Winkle, Managing Director of EPIC.LAN, spoke on the renewal: “Our 2021 Intel partnership allowed us to continue providing really important activities for the gaming community, keeping people socially active through lockdowns and then enabling a safe and careful return to physical events towards the end of the year.

“Intel really helped us to develop our community programme while securing more competitive prize pools for our upcoming esports teams participating in our tournaments. We look forward to working with Intel once again in 2022 to take our events and community to the next level.”

Intel’s renewal with the event organiser comes after EPIC’LAN extended its existing deal with hardware retailer Overclockers UK. The technology company is the third partner for EPIC’LAN’s 2022 events, joining the retailer and gaming chair manufacturer noblechairs.

Mark Walton, EMEA Graphics and Gaming Communications Manager at Intel, added: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with EPIC.LAN in 2022. Through a challenging year, EPIC.LAN continued to safely support the gaming community with its events and inclusive tournaments like the Intel Community Championship. As a leader in PC gaming, we at Intel are excited about the future of EPIC.LAN and look forward to engaging this growing community with the team throughout 2022.”

Esports Insider says: As one of the UK’s largest esports event organisers, EPIC.LAN extending its partnership with Intel is a positive sign as in-person events begin to return. The organiser is beginning to build an impressive partnership portfolio, and it will be interesting to see if more deals are secured throughout the year.
