Galaxy Racer to host Dota 2 Invitational Series in Dubai

Dubai-based esports organisation Galaxy Racer has revealed the GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022

The tournament, which is set to take place March 2nd – 6th, will feature 10 Dota 2 teams battling it out for its AED 1,000,000 (~£199,984) prize pool.

The participating teams include Nigma Galaxy, Fnatic, Team Spirit, Virtus.pro, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy SEA, OG, Tundra Esports, TSM FTX and BOOM Esports. 

The tournament format will feature two groups of five teams competing in a round-robin group stage. A total of six teams will advance to the best-of-three double-elimination playoffs. 

The GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022 will be played as a LAN competition without a live audience in Dubai Studio City. The series will be broadcasted worldwide, with more details regarding the broadcast yet to be announced.

According to the release, this marks the first high-tier Dota 2 tournament to be held in the MENA region this year. Moreover, the event seeks to help highlight the country as a growing hub for global esports.

Galaxy Racer also recently announced it will sponsor the Canadian National Cricket Team and bolstered its presence within the Southeast Asian market through a projected investment of around $10m (£7.38m) into the Malaysian esports ecosystem.
