FaZe Clan and Manchester City announce pop-up event at Etihad Stadium

North American esports organisation FaZe Clan has announced it will host a pop-up event alongside English football club Manchester City.

The latest collaboration will see both parties open a pop-up merchandise store on April 9th, ahead of the club’s upcoming match against Liverpool FC, which is scheduled to take place the following day.

The event will be the first FaZe Clan pop-up event taking place outside of the United States. The occasion will feature a range of new co-branded merchandise, in addition to appearances from a number of content creators and talent from both entities.

This isn’t the first time the organisation and the club have joined forces. The two parties first collaborated in 2019 through merchandise and jointly hosting the FaZe City Cup, a Fortnite tournament that featured Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

2022 has already been productive for the organisation. In February, FaZe Clan collaborated with the National Football League (NFL) ahead of the Super Bowl and in March, rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg became a board member and content creator.

Manchester City’s esports division consists of players representing the club in FIFA and Fortnite competitions. Alongside FaZe Clan, its partnership roster includes the likes of telecommunications provider Etisalat and tyre manufacturer Nexen Tire.

Esports Insider says: FaZe Clan’s partnership with Manchester City is certainly proving its worth as the organisation looks to branch out into the UK market. The upcoming pop-up event will benefit both parties involved, with FaZe scoring another opportunity for content creation while the club expands its presence within the gaming and esports sector.
