British esports organisation EXCEL ESPORTS has announced a year-long partnership with food delivery company Just Eat.
Just Eat will become the official food delivery partner for the esports organisation. EXCEL and Just Eat will also work on creating content together, and Just Eat branding will feature on the jerseys of all EXCEL rosters.
Just Eat is a part of Just Eat Takeaway, a Dutch international food delivery company based in Amsterdam. The partnership with EXCEL is Just Eat’s first foray into gaming and esports. The partnership is expected to last for at least one year.
Just Eat UK Marketing Director Matt Bushby said: ‘We are delighted to be working with EXCEL to bring Just Eat into gaming in a more meaningful and impactful way over the next 12 months. We look forward to working with them on a variety of Gaming first opportunities and providing millions of hungry gamers with experiences they can’t get elsewhere.”
Just Eat and EXCEL announced that the two companies will collaborate on different types of content, including events and digital content. The two companies noted that the focus of the partnership will also be on creating experiences that support good causes. More information about these experiences was not shared.
EXCEL ESPORTS’ Commercial Director, Mark Carter added: “We are thrilled to announce Just Eat as our Official Food Delivery Partner, in what is Just Eat’s most significant gaming partnership to date.
“Sharing a vision to constantly create authentic engagement for our respective communities, we look forward to working closely together on exciting experiences and activations both virtually and at gaming events across the country!”
Esports Insider says: Just Eat has entered esports in a big way with a notable partner. The company is set to create an array of content types connected to gamers, and is a natural partner for an esports organisation, considering that food delivery and gaming go very well together.
