Norwegian esports organisation SKADE has partnered with Kvarøy Arctic and the Norwegian Seafood Council to launch a marketing campaign.
According to the release, the three parties will work together on a campaign that aims to ‘increase the exposure of Norwegian salmon towards hard-to-reach consumer segments’.

SKADE will be tasked with presenting the ‘Seafood from Norway’ brand to esports and gaming audiences through a series of activations. The Norwegian Seafood Council will co-finance the campaign as a representative of the Norwegian seafood industry.
Morten Skaland, CEO of SKADE, commented:” Having Kvarøy Arctic and the Norwegian Seafood Council on board with us in our esports journey is an amazing milestone for us. This move shows that non-endemic brands such as our partners from the Seafood industry can find value in access and exposure towards gamers and esports fans.“
This is not the first time an esports organisation is partnering with a company focused on fish products. In 2021 another Norwegian organisation, Heroic, partnered with fish oil brand Aker BioMarine.

Jan Aleksander Enoksen, Joint Marketing Manager at the Norwegian Seafood Council, added: “We are very happy to have this opportunity to cooperate with Kvarøy Arctic and SKADE to promote Norwegian seafood under the ‘Seafood from Norway’ brand to ‘hard-to-reach’ consumers, by providing co-financing through our Joint Marketing Program.”
The three parties did not share details about the campaign, such as how the activations will take place, financial details. The partnership will last for the remainder of 2022.
Esports Insider says: Norwegian salmon is one of the most famous export products for the country. As such, it makes sense to use esports as away to advertise it to younger audiences. SKADE is a good partner for the campaign, given that the organisation is a regional partner.
