British esports organisation EXCEL ESPORTS has announced the acquisition of assets belonging to esports e-learning platform Hitcap.

As a part of the acquisition, EXCEL will now run Hitcap’s social media channels, as well as its content archive and learning product.

Hitcap is an esports coaching platform that focuses on League of Legends, known for its in-depth approach and for clarifying the ins-and-outs of the game in a simple manner. Hitcap’s website was offline at the time of writing, but its social media profiles are still online.

The acquisition will help EXCEL bolster its own social media and internet presence. Hitcap’s social media channels have more than 500,000 combined followers, and these will now be rebranded into EXCEL channels focused on educational content.

The company noted that it wants to produce guides, pro tips, and vlogs through the former Hitcap channels, and also make use of Hitcap’s e-learning platform that integrates into game clients to provide an in-game evaluation of player performance.

The acquisition of Hitcap forms the second education-related move by EXCEL this year. In May, EXCEL became an approved activity provider of the UK’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE).

Hitcap Philipp Kuenstler, the former CEO of Hitcap, said the acquisition allows the team to ‘utilise more opportunities and synergies’ than it was able to before. Kuenstler added via LinkedIn: “I’m happy to give Hitcap into the competent hands of Wouter and the Excel Esports team and will support them on integrating both the platform and the social channels with the help of Oskar Sisi into their amazing organisation”

Wouter Sleijffers, CEO of EXCEL ESPORTS, commented: “When first speaking with Hitcap, we immediately realised the potential of our combined forces. I’m very pleased that we can now further level up our community through the high quality content from Hitcap!”

Kuenstler also added that most of the Hitcap team will be going separate ways, meaning that EXCEL ESPORTS apparently did not hire all of the Hitcap employees.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
