Esports stadium company Glytch has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors: Chuck Steedman and JP Melo.
Both Steedman and Melo will bring their expertise across tech, franchising, venues and live events to help Glytch level up the experience it offers.
Steedman currently is a partner in a private equity fund targeting investments across four core verticals in sports. He most recently served as the Executive Vice President for Strategy and Development at ASM Global, where he was responsible for global strategic planning, business development and M&A activity.
Prior to this role, Steedman was part of AEG Facilities, overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations of stadia, arenas and convention centres around the globe. He also created and implemented AEG’s growth strategy in Latin America.
On the other hand, Melo was at Cisco from 2007-2014 as a Strategic Account Manager for the Public Sector. He later returned in 2016 after two years as Riverbed’s General Manager for Brazil, and led Sports, Media and Entertainment for the Americas at Cisco. Currently, Melo is a Strategic Sales Director at Microsoft.
According to a release, Glytch has ambitions to become an integral part of local communities across the US and Canada.
Both Steedman and Melo will join the Board of Directors alongside esports expert Angela Bernhard-Thomas; former Legends global tech solutions president Denise Taylor; video game developer Michael Williams and market insight analyst Kate Raphael.
Bernhard-Thomas, who is the Executive Director of the Board of Directors for Glytch, commented on the appointments: “Both JP and Chuck bring incredible experience across technology, franchising, venues, live events, and most importantly, forward-thinking that will fulfil our mission at Glytch to level up the esports stadium experience and become an integral part of their local communities.
“We believe we have the right blueprint for the future, and we are building an exceptional staff, board, and advisors to deliver for the fans and brand partners.”
