Esports live betting services supplier SIS Competitive Gaming has been awarded Esports Integrity Commission’s (ESIC) Gold Standard certification.
The Gold Standard is the highest possible accreditation from ESIC, and makes SIS the first esports betting events supplier to fulfil the criteria needed.
ESIC is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide a set of certifications and rules to strengthen integrity within the esports industry. The organisation’s members include the likes of tournament organisers ESL Gaming and BLAST, as well as hardware companies such as Intel and betting companies like Betway, Sky Bet, Rivalry and others.
According to SIS Competitive Gaming, the new standards will be used to elevate the transparency of its esports offerings. To achieve gold certification, the company needed to fulfil strict requirements and agree to ESIC integrity referees to participate in its events. SIS provides 24-hour live esports matches between real players, allowing betting for these matches. The company recently partnered with betting services provider Oddin.gg on 24/7 CS:GO betting content.
In the case of SIS, the Gold certification is focused on the company’s competitive gaming offerings, including football, basketball and CS:GO.
SIS explained its certification in a release: “Each SIS Competitive Gaming head-to-head match, all of which take place from within our UK-based self-contained studios, is streamed live with experienced casters providing live in-game commentary.
“The streams take place through a secure platform that is exclusive to licensed operator sites where the age of the audience has been verified and is not available on open streaming services, meaning there is less danger of toxic messaging of the sort that is often carried on unlicensed sites.”
Some of the requirements for Gold-certified companies are:
- Including at least three employeed personnel who watch every event,
- Full criminal record check of all employees,
- Signing of ESIC anti-corruption code by all staff and all players,
- Removal of all communication devices from gaming studios, and others.
