The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), a free trade zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has announced the launch of the DMCC Gaming Centre.
The DMCC Gaming Centre will house game developers, publishers, AR and VR tech, as well as, esports and metaverse gaming companies.
The venue, which was unveiled during the Dubai Esports Festival in November 2022, is located in DMCC’s free zone at the centre of Dubai. DMCC is already home to over 50 gaming companies, including game developers and producers, as well as, esports teams and tournament organisers.
Through the DMCC Gaming Centre, members will have access to the broader esports community through regular events and esports tournaments. Moreover, they will receive industry support from DMCC’s ecosystem partner YaLLa Esports, a prominent esports organisation in the UAE.
In addition, members will have the chance to join gaming-specific acceleration and market entry programmes with the help of DMCC’s ecosystem partner AstroLabs.
Earlier this year, DMCC partnered with venture capital firm Brinc to provide members with access to $150m (⁓£122m) in funding through their accelerator programmes, ZK Advancer and The Sandbox Metaverse. Those programmes will also be open to DMCC Gaming Centre members interested in developing games on blockchain and web3 technologies.
