North American lifestyle brand and esports organisation FaZe Clan has announced a collaboration with apparel company Nike.
The collaboration sees both parties join forces to produce an exclusive Nike x FaZe Clan colourway Lebron Nxxt Gen shoe.
With this partnership, FaZe Clan adds yet another global partner to its roster, joining the likes of Porsche, Drake’s OVO and McDonalds, among others.
Nike is also no stranger to esports. The brand has previously collaborated with Riot Games to sponsor its League of Legends Pro League (LPL) and has other ongoing partnerships with organisations such as T1, which includes a line of apparel.
According to FaZe Clan, the branded shoe was designed collaboratively with Nike and the organisation’s creative team. This includes FaZe Clan’s Creative Director Jay ‘JVY’ Richardson and stylist Toreno Winn.
The shoes will be debuted by LeBron James’ son Bronny James — who became a member of FaZe Clan in 2020 — during the Sierra Canyon vs Notre Dame match at The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The shoe will be first available in North America exclusively on March 9th via SNKRS and FaZe Clan’s website.
In a release, Richardson commented: “Our hope is that our first collaboration with Nike solidifies gamers belonging in the same realm of professional athletes.
“The design of this shoe is inspired by the analogy that just like motherboards buried underneath the shell of technology, all great talent comes from beneath, and we all use different internal functions to power us as athletes and gamers.”
