Esports betting platform Midnite has announced the appointment of former Sky Bet Product Designer Lewis Bamber.

Bamber becomes Senior Product Designer for the company, where he will create new products in addition to refining existing offerings on the platform.

During Bamber’s time at Sky Bet, he created the platform’s design system alongside leading its BuildABet project which continues to prove popular with consumers. Prior to joining Sky Bet, Bamber spent four years at online ticket platform Vibe Tickets as a Software Engineer and Product Designer.

The hire takes Midnite’s number of staffers to 73. According to a release, the number of Midnite employees has risen by 21 since January 2022. Bamber joining the platform marks the company’s first hire of 2023 after appointing two former Rivalry executives in January 2022.

Over the last 12 months, Midnite has continued to consolidate its position within the esports betting sector. In February 2022, it unveiled a $16m (~£13.3m) Series A funding round, and in August it joined forces with Brazilian esports organisation LOUD to become its latest sponsor.

By partnering with LOUD, Midnite buttressed a partnerships roster that already included the likes of Call of Duty League franchise London Royal Ravens, after it secured a deal with Royal Ravens parent company ReKTGlobal in May 2021.
