North American esports and gaming company OverActive Media has announced that its current CEO Chris Overholt will no longer lead the company.

Overholt will remain as Strategic Advisor for 30 days, after which he will leave to pursue another opportunity. Co-founder and current CSO of OverActive Media Adam Adamou will act as interim CEO as the company searches for a suitable replacement for Overholt.

OverActive Media is a Canada-based global holding company most known for being the owner of esports brand MAD Lions, as well as Toronto Ultra in the Call of Duty League and Toronto Defiant in the Overwatch League. The company is known for being one of the prominent players in the Canadian esports market, and for interesting partnerships such as the one between MAD Lions and Warner Music.

Chris Overholt, former CEO of OverActive, was also the first CEO of the company. Appointed in 2018, he led the company to a listing on the Toronto Venture Exchange in 2021 and worked on partnerships with Bell and TD Bank. Prior to joining OverActive, Overholt worked for the Canadian Olympic Committee for almost a decade.

This is his first tenure as CEO of the company. OverActive Media did not mention whether they are already in talks with candidates for the position or how long they believe the search is going to last.

Adamou said: “We are in an exciting industry at an incredible time and OverActive is poised to seize the many opportunities that lay ahead. Our priority remains — to redefine the future of sports and entertainment by focusing on today’s generation of fans.”

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
