DRX locks in partnership with LG Display

South Korean esports organisation DRX has announced a sponsorship deal with electronics company LG Display.

As a result, the two parties will collaborate to expand the organisation’s marketing and advertising campaigns by utilising its esports teams.

Known for its expertise within the display technologies sector, LG Display sponsoring DRX is expected to influence the OLED monitor market in which the company supplies products to the likes of LG Electronics and gaming peripherals brand Corsair.

In recent months, DRX has continued to expand its partnership portfolio. In February, the organisation’s Tekken player, Jae-Min ‘Knee’ Bae, signed a deal with German shampoo brand Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo.

Aside from its growing roster of partners, DRX fields teams in League of Legends, Tekken 7, VALORANT and Warcraft 3. The organisation’s League of Legends roster won the 2022 World Championship while its VALORANT team is competing in the inaugural VALORANT Champions Tour: Pacific League, which will take place in Seoul.

LG Display becomes DRX’s 12th partner and joins gaming peripherals brand Logitech G, German automotive marque Porsche, and the Seoul National University on its portfolio.

Business Officers for DRX spoke on the collaboration: “We believe this sponsorship was possible thanks to their continued interest in the esports industry, and our existing relationship between DRX KNEE and LG Display.

“The excellent features such as the response rate and the ability to look at the display for hours without fatigue is catered to esports players – most of whom are incredibly sensitive to their monitors. We welcome this opportunity to partner up with one of the top display manufacturers in the world.”
