Göteborg to host eAllsvenskan Finals

Göteborg, the second-largest city in Sweden, will host the finals of FIFA esports tournament eAllsvenskan.

The finals will take place in early May 2023 at the shopping centre Nordstan in Göteborg,and will feature eight best eAllsvenskan teams and a 120,000 SEK (~£9,700) prize pool.

The eAllsvenskan is the official esports tournament of the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top-flight football division. The tournament is comprised of 13 teams owned by Swedish football clubs, including ones from well-known sports teams AIK and Malmo. The tournament is operated jointly by Swedish Elite Football and DreamHack Sports Games, a sports game vertical of the ESL FACEIT Group.

This is the fifth season of the league that was first started in 2019. The season started in November 2022, and four teams have already qualified for the upcoming finals: AIK, Malmö FF, Hammarby IF, and IFK Göteborg.

The league is a part of the FIFA Global Series, one of the top tournaments in competitive FIFA which includes the ePremier League, eMLS and others.

For the finals, eAllsvenskan has partnered with Nordstan, Sweden’s largest shopping center, and Göteborg & Co, the parent company of the Tourism, Culture & Events cluster, which includes several venues in the city.

The league is a part of a larger ecosystem of national leagues that have their own official esports tournaments, such as the eDivisie, the official FIFA tournaments in the Netherlands, and the eMLS, the official FIFA tournament for the top-flight division in the United States.
