Brazilian esports organisation FURIA has announced a partnership with sim racing company VRS for its racing roster.
FURIA and VRS’ partnership is set to last until at least June 2024. The deal will see VRS’ logo be included on FURIA cars in games, as well as both entities taking part in marketing collaborations and content creation. VRS will also provide FURIA with its hardware products.
The partnership with Furia comes just one day after VRS partnered with Norwegian esports brand Heroic, making it the second official partnership for the company and the first one with a brand from the southern hemisphere.
This partnership will be focused on ESL R1, a new sim racing competition created by ESL Gaming on PC sim racing game RENNSPORT. FURIA is one of the teams competing in the first edition of the tournament, which includes esports organisations like G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. The tournament also sees esports teams from known motorsport brands compete, such as Porsche Coanda, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS and BMW M Team.
VRS is a hardware and software company that creates sim racing hardware, such as wheelbases and pedals, but also offers telemetry solutions and other educational resources to help racers learn courses and get better at the sport.
FURIA has recently announced a new base of operations for its sim racing team. The team will be based in the northern part of Malta and will be joined by its FURIA CS:GO team. This allows for less travel to European leagues and events while supporting the country’s esports ecosystem.
VRS Marketing Director, Joe Bricky, commented on the partnership: “VRS is super excited to be partnering with FURIA for the RENNSPORT ESL R1 series. Having this epic team of competitors with us to help bring sim racing and esports to the next level is an honour.”
