Esports betting company GG.BET has entered the UK market after sports betting operator Rednines Gaming Ltd acquired the rights to use the bookmaker’s trademark in the country.
As a result, Rednines’ Dr.Bet brand will operate under the name GG.BET UK and provide esports betting options.
Rednines Gaming has been licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the UK Gambling Commission since April 2020. According to GG.BET, users of the casino and sports betting brand will be redirected to the new domain. Moreover, all of Dr.bet customers’ current accounts and active balances will be saved.
The move into the UK marks a significant step for GG.BET, a company that is looking to cement its name within the esports ecosystem. The betting site has done this through notable partnerships with key stakeholders like Team Vitality and PGL, as well as a range of fan-focused activations.
The new GG.BET UK website will still continue to feature sports betting and casino options, alongside esports offerings.
According to Sergii Mishchenko, the co-founder of Dr.bet (now GG.BET UK), the decision to purchase the esports betting company’s trademark in the country was an important step in Rednines Gaming’s development.
“The UK betting market is highly competitive, he said. “As a result, we decided to continue operating under a strong international brand that will allow us to stand out among other bookmakers. We’re delighted to become a part of a global brand, and are looking forward to contributing to the esports betting market in the UK.”
This isn’t the first UK betting-focused esports story this month. Esports solutions provider Abios announced a partnership with UK esports betting website Dragoni earlier this week.
