Following his departure from the Swedish esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas, Jonas Gundersen has officially launched his own venture, the Continuum X Group.
Gundersen made the announcement via a social media post, noting he is looking to bring value to the esports ecosystem by offering a combination of investments, strategic advisory and management.
Continuum X Group is an investment, advisory and management firm with a focus on the esports and gaming space. As well as founding the company, Gundersen will also take the role of CEO.
Gundersen is a well-known face in the industry, having played professionally in the early 2000s in Counter-Strike under the nickname ‘calc’. After retiring from competitive play, he moved to other industries before making his return as the COO of Danish esports organisation North Esports.
In 2020, Gundersen became Ninjas in Pyjamas’ COO, where he helped grow the organisation’s operations. During his time in the company, NIP completed a merger with Chinese esports organisation ESV5 to form the NIP Group, which resulted in the organisation joining Riot Games’ League of Legends franchised Chinese league, the LPL.
Interestingly, NIP Group is present on Continuum X Group’s website, alongside mobile database RenderZ, trading platform GamerPay, and development studio Bright Star Studios.
Throughout the years, Gundersen has also gained a following on his personal LinkedIn social media page, where he shares his own stories and opinions on leadership and entrepreneurship.
Jonas Gundersen, Founder and CEO of Continuum X Group said the following on LinkedIn: “My passion for esports and gaming, empowering great people and creating momentum across the entire industry has never been bigger. Never felt more right creating my own company, with a mission to bring value across the entire stakeholder ecosystem through investment, strategic advisory and management.”
