Game developer MOONTON Games, the creator of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), has partnered with the Nigeria Esports Federation (NESF) to help boost its domestic esports scene.

MOONTON and the NESF will work together on organising and supporting tournaments and helping with the organisation of third-party MLBB events in Nigeria. The two parties will also work on promotion for esports events.

The Nigeria Esports Federation is an IESF-member esports federation in the African country of Nigeria, which aims to grow the country’s esports ecosystem. The new partnership will see MOONTON become an official esports partner of NESF in the future.

Although exact details were not shared, the two sides have agreed to work together on popularising esports in the country through licence agreements for NESF initiated, organised or supported tournaments. This includes the official esports league in the country. Names of upcoming tournaments, as well as dates or prize pools, were not disclosed.

In addition, MOONTON will help third-party organisers by supporting them through marketing efforts, broadcast assistance and in-game prizes. The organisers will have access to official tournament software and will be able to use MOONTON’s API for broadcasts.

MOONTON and NESF said the partnership would improve the quality of MLBB events in the country.

Yahaya Maikori, President of the Nigeria Esports Federation, said: “Partnering with MOONTON Games marks a significant milestone for the Nigeria Esports Federation and this is coming in good time as we are about to commence our national qualifiers for MLBB towards the IESF World Esports Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“We are excited to collaborate with a global leader in the esports industry to enhance the competitive landscape and provide unparalleled opportunities for Nigerian gamers.”
